
Dr. Warren Isakow is a specialist in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care, with an extensive and distinguished international career. He served as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis and as Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, one of the leading medical centers in the United States.
Born in South Africa, Dr. Isakow graduated with honors from the University of the Witwatersrand School of Medicine in Johannesburg. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis an institution globally recognized for excellence in respiratory and critical care medicine. During his training, he served as Chief Medical Resident at the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Hospital.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Isakow joined the pulmonary faculty at Washington University, authored numerous scientific papers and textbook chapters, and served as editor of the renowned textbook “The Washington Manual of Critical Care Medicine.” He received multiple awards for outstanding teaching, including the prestigious Robert Senior Teaching Physician of the Year Award.
In 2018, Dr. Isakow immigrated to Israel and has since been practicing as a pulmonary specialist at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, as well as serving as a senior medical specialist in the Israel Defense Forces. With extensive clinical experience, he provides comprehensive, compassionate, and meticulous care for a wide range of pulmonary conditions. He is skilled in advanced procedures such as diagnostic bronchoscopy and pleural drainage, as well as in interpreting imaging studies and pulmonary function tests. He is fluent in both English and Hebrew.
